Wellness Representative Spotlight: Meet Wanda Harris
As an event lead for WCS, Wanda Harris’s great talent is in putting together all the moving pieces of a biometric screening event to pull off something that looks effortless.
One of those pieces is figuring out exactly what the client wants out of their event. Wanda always explicitly asks about the goal before an event gets started. “If it’s to get everyone in and out, that’s what we do,” she explained, giving an example of a client who wanted to make sure employees would be screened as efficiently as possible.
Wanda sets the bar high so that all employee participants have a positive experience. Prior to joining our team as a wellness representative, Wanda worked for the United States Postal Service for 18 years. When an injury meant she needed to change careers, she started working as a screener in the ER. While at the ER, she became passionate about preventive care and how to help people avoid serious health consequences down the road.
That leads to what Wanda loves best about her role—running events for the same client year after year, and hearing from employees about the lifestyle changes they’ve made after they have learned about their numbers. “It makes me feel that what we are doing is really beneficial,” she said. “Seeing those changes really solidifies what we do.”
At the end of the day, we sincerely appreciate how much Wanda cares about connecting with people. (She has this in common with Jennifer Wright and Christopher Gulledge, who lead screening events for us in different parts of the country!) She always focuses on getting to know the rest of the screening staff well so she can put them in the best possible position to succeed. And by supporting our team of wellness representatives, Wanda Harris helps us deliver a seamless, educational, and empowering experience for each client.
