Wellness Challenges Keep Employees Engaged
We talk a lot about biometric screenings, which are an important part of most wellness programs. But once that baseline is established, it’s important to keep the momentum going throughout the year. I’m so proud of our Full Circle wellness team — they’re so passionate about creating unique, meaningful programming for every client. One of the many ways they engage a population is through wellness challenges.
We have more than 20 standard wellness challenges on a variety of themes. Some are steps-based and fitness oriented, while others focus on healthy weight, nutrition, and lifestyle. Whatever the focus, they’re all timely and fun! Challenges usually last 3-8 weeks, and program managers always work to find options that work best for each client’s population. We also can design custom challenges, in some cases.
Practicing what we preach, we frequently run wellness challenges for our own employees. One example was “Race the Globe,” a team-based challenge that encouraged everyone to reach a set number of steps within four weeks. Program managers send helpful tips every week, which kept everyone motivated, and people were encouraged to set their own wellness goals for the month.
