Combining Flu Shots and Biometric Screenings: Part 2
Last week, we discussed how bringing flu vaccinations and biometric screenings together under a single vendor ensures strong, consistent program management.
That’s especially true at WCS, where Program Managers are adept at implementing both screening and flu campaigns. Given their wide-ranging experience, it makes good sense to let them handle both services.
This week, we’re focusing on something more basic: appointment scheduling.
When it works well, you barely notice it. But when you have separate vendors managing screenings and flu shots, it can get complicated. Employees are often asked to navigate multiple scheduling platforms, which is a recipe for confusion and lower engagement.
We developed our own platform called WellConnect Plus to simplify the scheduling process. It manages both screening and flu appointments seamlessly, all in one place.
After giving consent electronically, participants select a date, location, and the type of appointment they want to make. They can choose biometric screenings only, flu shots only, or both services together.
The system clearly displays available appointment times—highlighting slots when both screening and flu are available together. When you’re ready, you book both appointments at once.
Even more convenient, WellConnect Plus allows participants to make appointments for themselves and someone else, such as a spouse or partner. Many scheduling systems don’t have this feature, and that can be a real hassle. No one likes having to go through the scheduling process twice. With WellConnect Plus, you don’t have to.
(As you’d expect, the system also offers a variety of confirmation and reminder options. Users can choose between email or text messaging, as well as download calendar reminders in various formats.)
If scheduling has been a pain point for your employees, we know you’ll love WellConnect Plus. In addition to scheduling, it also lets users access vouchers, view their screening results online, download proof of vaccination forms, and so much more. It’s just one more reason to let WCS handle screenings and flu shots together!
Next week, we’ll talk about how combining screenings and flu shots promotes a consistent communications strategy that maximizes engagement. Stay tuned!
