Combining Flu Shots and Biometric Screenings: Part 1
As of this writing, the famous cherry trees that line the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC, are still in bloom. That means spring is here, and flu season is behind us. Right?
Well, not quite. This year’s flu season has lasted longer than most. According to the latest data from the CDC, flu is still widespread in 33 states and Puerto Rico.
Most people know Wellness Corporate Solutions as a premier provider of biometric screenings — but flu vaccinations are also a specialty. As with screenings, we manage the entire process internally and achieve stellar participant satisfaction rates, year after year.
This article is the first in a series on using a single vendor for flu vaccinations and biometric screenings. As you’ll see, we think it makes a lot of sense to bring both services under the same umbrella.
Today’s focus is on program management.
We recently wrote in depth about how WCS’s Program Managers distinguish themselves from other screening vendors in the marketplace. Adding flu shots gives you even more of this top-notch service.
With a single Program Manager in charge, there’s no need to juggle vendors during the planning process. You don’t have to schedule separate meetings, or keep track of multiple implementation timelines. WCS’s Program Managers act a single point of contact, so you always know who to call when you have a question. (And you know you’ll get a timely response!)
Managing a separate vendor for flu shots is also tricky because they may not know you as well as we do. If you’ve worked with WCS before, your Program Manager is already familiar with your company’s locations and site contacts. We’ve already found solutions to your logistical challenges, and we know your employees. Onboarding a separate vendor for flu means starting from scratch.
In our previous series on screenings, we took a deep dive into staffing and why it’s so important. This is another advantage of combining screenings and flu shots: when WCS is handling both services, you know the staff will be of the highest quality.
WCS’s flu nurses are W-2 employees — part of the same nationwide network of health professionals we use for screenings. They receive rigorous role- and client-specific training, supervised by our Talent Acquisition team.
If you’re not already convinced that flu shots and screenings are better off under the same roof, stay tuned for our next installment. We’ll talk about how the participant experience benefits from bringing these two services together.
