Celebrate American Heart Month & Get to Know Your Numbers
Heart disease continues to be the number one cause of death in the United States. But how do we prevent it? The American Heart Association breaks it down for every age, but some of the basics are to eat healthy, exercise, avoid smoking, and manage your stress. But it all starts with knowing your numbers and where you stand. From there, you can take small steps to reduce your risk of heart disease.
High blood pressure and cholesterol are both risk factors for heart disease. Our standard biometric screenings use the fingerstick method to test an individual’s total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, TC/HDL ratio, triglycerides and glucose. We also measure employees’ blood pressure. Providing employees with a biometric screening is a convenient way to give them a baseline of their health.
There are so many factors that can contribute to one’s heart health, and many of those factors are specific to each person. Our experienced and diverse Health Coaching Team can help employees achieve their health goals in a one-on-one environment, where they have the opportunity to focus on their own personal health journey.
One of our clients went from including health education at only 2% of their events to providing it at the majority of all of their events, causing their engagement to increase and more employees expressing their desire to change their behavior. Check out our case study to learn more!
