Physical activity is important for our health and wellbeing. Yoga is a great physical activity to do when you’re stressed because it involves focus and balance as you move through one or a series of poses. You can take yoga classes at a studio or practice on your own with instructions from videos online.

Meditation

It’s common for to be thinking of a million different things when stressed. Meditation can help focus our thoughts. There are many types of meditation, but all of them make you focus in on one thing at a time. Guided imagery is where you can imagine a relaxing situation or place. Mantra is where you think of a relaxing word, thought, or phrase and repeat it to stop you from thinking other thoughts.

Breathing exercises

When you’re stressed, you breathe faster and more shallowly. Breathing exercises to help us to relax our hearts by focusing on breaths. Breaths should be deep and gradually taken in.

Our muscles can get pretty tense when we’re stressed. This exercise is a great way to help relax your muscles. Get into a comfortable position on the floor and breathe deeply. Slowly tense and relax your muscles, starting with your feet and working up to your face.
